Hrm, I sorta lost the love for this blog somewhere along the way. I’ve changed the name, I never liked the old one, I’m not happy with this one either so it might changed again. Decided also to change the look of it, but that’ll happen when it happens, if you know what I mean.
I turned 24 in April, oooh, pushing 30! One day when I do turn 30 I’m not going to be able to say that anymore and I don’t know what I’ll say then.
We went to Dans le Noir, a restaurant where you sit in the dark and are waited on by blind people. Oh, also you don’t know what you’re eating. I do not use the term “dark” lightly (hur, puns). After we’d met our waiter and were led to our table, my hand was placed on the back of my chair and I patiently waited for my eyes to adjust. They didn’t. I promptly forgot what I was meant to be doing with the chair. “Pull it towards you and sit down”, the waiter suggested helpfully. Honestly, I thought that I’d at least be able to make out shapes, or see a little bit, but no. Complete, utter darkness, couldn’t see a hand in front of my face. I even put a hand in front of my face to test.
Pouring wine was fun times. We hand to stick our fingers in the glasses, mostly so we weren’t pouring it into our laps, but also so we could tell how much wine was in the glass. Getting food onto the fork was also more difficult than I anticipated. Somewhere along the way, the table next to us asked who’s birthdays it was so a room full of people I couldn’t see, sung happy birthday to me and the bloke next to me. Attempting to lean over to talk and headbutting my ear instead, he said how much nicer it was not having to be able to see anyone sing you the birthday song.
Other than that, my life has consisted mainly of work. Getting the savings in so we can travel in summer!
