Dancing With The Stars
I mentioned earlier that I was a big fan of the NZ version of Dancing with the Stars. Luckily, my mum knows a lady, who knows a lady, who works for TVNZ and got us tickets. So last night I was part of the live studio audience. We had a great time, primo seats, right at the front centre.
I’ve always found TV sets to be the most interesting places to watch people. A normal pleb, like me, will stand up very straight and try to look dignified but very happy to be there. Then there are those who are “Suspected-TV-Celebrities-That-Look-Familiar- But-I-Can’t-Remember-Who-You-Are-Right-Now” who look bored and far too cool to enjoy themselves. Then, there are the actual celebrities, who are smiling and are generally pretty cool.
I’ve been part of an audience before, I’ve been a background person in a short series, I’ve been in a advert. I still don’t know what I think of people who work in the TV industry. I’m tempted to say that the people there sort of make you feel very small and insigificant, but I’m not sure if that’s all in my head or not.
Unless you work at AltTV of course. Not only is AltTV full of the coolest people EVAH, they all offer you drinks. The brief few times I’ve hung out at Alt, I’ve been blown away at how friendly everyone is.
In other news….
One of you cheeky bastards from #digital-overload quoted me on QDB :P I’m not pointing the finger at Spectre anyone in particular…
I deny everything!
