I went downstairs last night to find my entire family sitting around the TV singing their lungs out. “THERE’S NOTHING YOU CAN DOOOO, IT’S TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEAAAART… oh Hi Lil, why don’t you come sit down and watch this show with us” my mum said, patting the couch beside her.
Has anyone ever seen Singing Bee? I’m sure it was an American show first. New Zealand television usually takes these shows, that were fairly crap to begin with, and makes them worse. I’m sure the contestants on the American version could actually hold a tune. Basically, the contestants get up on stage and sing kareoke, but the catch is, certain words are missing. They have to sing the correct words to gain points. So I get suckered into it, because ya know, I’m competitive and loves me some music. Even certain Bad Hits of the 80s. I sat down for a bit and wailed along with them.
A bit later Mum calls me back again. “Dancing With The Stars is on!” she exclaimed. Ok, I admit, I really like this program. Last year, this is what got me going to ballroom dancing lessons in the first place. I dragged along a male friend, who made me swear black and blue that none of his mates would ever find out about this. I talked a few people into it actually. It’s sorter one of my things. I get fixated on something and I don’t stop talking about it for weeks. Obsessions or something. I dunno.
The unfortunate thing about NZ Dancing With The Stars, is that they’re running out of actual celebrities for the show. The only name I recognize is a guy who is a world champion IronMan.
i saw this last night – you’re right its terrible.
I’d be f***d off if our ads played during it!
